Sprinter 275 Headlamp
CAD design of plastic enclosures for a compact consumer electronics product.
As a refresh to the classic running headlamp in the Black Diamond headlamp line, I worked on mechanism design and DFM for this consumer electronics product. In contrast to all my other projects at Black Diamond, this project was primarily industrial design driven, so I worked tightly within the confines of ID surfaces to design plastic components and optimize light pipes that met requirements from our electrical engineering contractor, plastics vendor, and ID team. I also developed the latching mechanism to allow the lamp to work with both AAA batteries and a rechargeable Li-ION battery.
